Make your way to Tilbury and embark Columbus, then enjoy a first dinner on board as we set sail this afternoon.
Welcome to Amsterdam - a delightful city of canals, flower markets and renowned museums. Spend the day wandering the cobbled streets along the waterways, and perhaps take to the water on a canal cruise or even a self-pedalled canal 'bike'.
Weighing in at 63,000 tonnes and 250 metres, Columbus is the biggest ship in the CMV fleet. Originally launched in 1989 (by Audrey Hepburn), she was extensively refitted in 2015, and now offers 1500 passengers spacious accommodation and elegant communal areas arranged over 12 decks and topped off with the panoramic Dome Observatory.
The cabins on board Columbus offer accommodation to suit a range of pockets and preferences. Each passenger cabin offers private facilities with shower and bath, a TV, a hairdryer and personal safe. Superior and Deluxe cabins and Suites offer extra touches such as mini-bars fridges, bathrobes and slippers and even champagne to toast your arrival on board. Outside cabins offer picture windows and portholes.
As ever, the choice of dining options will ensure mealtimes aboard Columbus are a highlight of each voyage, with five restaurants from which to choose, ranging from the formal Waterfront to the more relaxed Plantation Bistro and the outdoor Lido Grill. Delicious cuisine will be tailored to British tastes, combining classic favourites with the flavours of dishes celebrating the ship s ports of call.
When evening comes, enjoy a wonderful meal in relaxed company, and then be royally entertained. If the stars are out, take a turn on the deck, or perhaps enjoy a nightcap in a comfortable lounge, before heading for your comfortable cabin to turn in, with memories of the day just gone and dreams of what awaits tomorrow.
