Make your way to Avonmouth to embark before Marco Polo she sets sail this afternoon.
Spend your first two days relaxing as Marco Polo cruises north.
The bright, Art Deco houses lining Alesund’s main street are one of today’s most striking sites. Stroll through the town, or perhaps visit the Sunnmore Museum to learn the secrets of the region’s fascinating Viking heritage. Later, Marco Polo will thread her way through the islands that dot this beautiful coastline.
Marco Polo cruises north, today, giving you the chance to make the most of the facilities on board.
This afternoon Marco Polo will arrive in Tromso - the northernmost city in the world. Centred on the island of Tromsoya, and dominated by the white shard of the Arctic Cathedral and the bridge to the mainland, Tromso is a fascinating mix of ancient wooden houses and modern architecture - practical structures and striking designs. Hear tales of Arctic exploration at the Polarmuseum, or ride the cable car to the summit of nearby Mount Storsteinen for some astonishing views.
Marco Polo cruises further beyond the Arctic Circle, today, docking in Honningsvaag. Join an optional shore excursion to the Nordkapp Visitor Centre and the northern tip of the whole of Europe.
You’ll have two days to enjoy a taste of life in the Arctic as Marco Polo breaks her journey in Alta - capital of Finnmark, Norway’s northernmost region. Here you’ll have the chance to discover the nomadic traditions of the indigenous Sami people, see the ancient rock carvings at Hjemmeluft Bay, and perhaps even stop for a drink in the world-famous Ice Hotel!
Relax on board as Marco Polo cruises south along the Norwegian coast.
Kristiansund is our port of call, today. This beautiful town sits on a cluster of four islands, and is the starting point of the Atlantic Ocean Road, a five-mile ribbon of roads and bridges that links the islets and skerries that skirt this part of the Atlantic coast.
Today, Marco Polo heads into Romdalsfjord. Step ashore in Andalsnes for the chance to join excursions into some of Norway’s most majestic mountain scenery, and perhaps to enjoy the peace and beauty that surrounds the ancient stave church in fjord-side Rodven.
Bergen is Marco Polo’s last Norwegian port. Explore this ancient city of wooden warehouses, cobbled streets and medieval houses, and perhaps ride the Floibanen funicular to the summit of ’Mount’ Floyen for views across the city and its bustling harbour.
Look back over your memories of the past fortnight as Marco Polo cruises back to Bristol.
